Sayagata is a pattern used for silk fabric imported from China to Japan during the era of the Ming Dynasty
and sayagata-kuzushi is a slightly modified form of this pattern.
It has the meaning of “unbroken continuity” and is used to represent people’s wishes for their household prosperity and longevity.
