Sekizenkan is a long-established ryokan nestled in the quiet valley of Shima Onsen in Gunma. With over 300 years of history, its architectural heritage—designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan—continues to convey the essence of Japanese aesthetics to all who visit.

For the recent guest room renovation, we supplied a total of 35 pieces, including our “Zonation Type” ranma from the Luxury Interior series, as well as custom sliding door components. To ensure the pieces blended gently into the tranquil atmosphere of the rooms, we selected Rikyu cedar as the primary material. The Kumiko features delicate carvings of birds in motion, echoing the natural scenery of Shima visible from the guest room windows.

It is a space where the quiet passage of the seasons is softly reflected, and where distinctly Japanese design breathes within the silence. We hope that guests will feel not only the comfort woven through Sekizenkan’s long history, but also the traditional craftsmanship expressed in every detail.
