Canonical Ltd., headquartered in London, is a global UK-based company that develops and provides open-source software such as Ubuntu. With employees around the world, the company operates offices across London as well as in North America, Asia, and other regions.

TANIHATA had the honor of supplying Kumiko panels to several of Canonical’s offices, including their London headquarters, Taiwan, and Spain.

Discussions began in 2022, and over the course of more than a year, we worked closely together to produce and deliver the final pieces. The designs selected were the “Asanoha” pattern panels and “Chigiregumo” from the Asanoha-Chirashi series. The “Chigiregumo” installed in the conference space was crafted by dividing the design into multiple polygonal panels of various sizes.

It is a great pleasure for our craftsmen to have the opportunity to bring Japanese woodworking techniques, materials, and traditional design into the offices of a global IT company.
