ESPACIO Nagoya Castle, a luxury hotel overlooking Nagoya Castle, officially opened on October 1, 2025. Throughout the hotel and its guest rooms, carefully curated works of art and traditional craftsmanship create an atmosphere of refined elegance and sophistication.

Tanihata was honored to design and produce 40 kumiko panels installed along the first-floor corridor. Each panel is paired with a distinctive piece of Noritake porcelain, resulting in 40 unique compositions, each with its own individual character.

The kumiko designs feature abstract interpretations of traditional Japanese auspicious patterns, including Asanoha and Goma motifs, expressing the Japanese appreciation of beauty and nature. A selection of Japanese cypress, richly colored cedar, and Jindai ceadar was used to highlight the natural variations in color and texture that make each wood species unique.
